UK carrier EE this week enabled its own flavour of NFC, dubbed Cash on Tap, for London’s bus network, allowing customers to use their phone in lieu of an Oyster card or contactless debit card. Users will need an EE handset and an NFC-capable SIM.

UK operator EE has signed outbound LTE roaming agreements with Orange in France and Spain. EE, which is jointly owned by operator groups Orange and Deutsche Telekom, said that the deals are the first of a series of outbound roaming agreements. The joint venture set up by UK’s mobile operators O2, Vodafone and EE — Weve — has announced a partnership with payment provider MasterCard. The two firms hope to accelerate usage of contactless mobile payments at the point of purchase in physical retail stores in Britain.
